November 20, 2010: International Day of the Child

This year is the twenty-first anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, adopted November 20, 1989 by the United Nations, in force since September 1990.
It 's the most ratified document in the world and the most ignored and therefore less valued in education.

The document was the first instrument of international protection to enshrine in its text the different types of human rights: civil, cultural, economic, political and social, as well as those relating to international humanitarian law.
Articles of the Convention may be grouped into four basic principle:
1) Principle of non-discrimination
2) The principle of best interests of the child
3) Right to life, survival and development
4) Listening to the views of the child
